The Dry Egg™ does not require batteries or electricity, instead using an internal chemical that pulls the water and humidity from the air.  The egg fits into a holder that has an indicator which changes colors – Blue if the room is Dry or Pink if the room is Wet – or has excessive humidity.   

The egg becomes heavy when it’s finished absorbing the moisture.  Once this occurs, the Dry Egg™ should be placed without the holder, in the microwave for 10 minutes, on mid-heat to dry out.  The Dry Egg™ can then be reused.  *The egg will be very hot initially and should only be removed from the microwave while using oven mitts.

Humidity can damage the home quickly since mold and mildew grow rapidly.  When moisture is presently the only way to clean the affected area is by hiring a mold clean-up specialist or use cleansers that contain bleach.  The Dry Egg™ helps stop mold growth before it starts and eliminate the need for bleach and other toxic household cleansers.  It is recommended that indoor humidity be kept below 50 percent in order to keep households safe from mold and mildew.
